| I have been using MAP ECU2 now for a number of years but only realy working with it in the last 6 months or so. To answer a few questions: Atmospheric BOV aren't the best solution with a MAF system due to the fact these vent metered air that the system has calculated for resulting in an extremely rich condition between shifts.(hence black smoke and flames) The map system accounts for this by using a pressure scale, in essence you could have a blown hose of the intake side and the MAP system will account for this due to the fact its sensing pressure not air flow. The self tune is not necessary. you can download the base table from their website and tune from there. (MAF elimination mode) the Knock control and retard function works well, the full control of timing via a separate timing table is very useful indeed. I basically start logging, go for a quick run and then sit down and review logged data. At that point you can tweak timing, fuel, EBC, while sat on the sofa :) save the data table and upload back to the MAP ECU2...rinse and repeat.... its not a standalone, completely different animal. you can retain the OEM ECU functionality while gaining the ability to take control over fuel and timing, knock with the most useful tool...Data logging!! highly recommended!!
WOW, you have a twin turbo! "Nah its a single".......oh...... "Its all good times until the single snail wants to join in" |
